Geeta Pant Rooted in the scenic hills of Bhikiyasain, Uttarakhand, Geeta Pant is affectionately known as the “Pirul Girl” for her incredible work turning discarded pine needles (pirul) into eco-friendly, handmade crafts. What started as a personal journey to support her family has grown into a movement of sustainability and empowerment. Under the mentorship of social innovator Manju Shah, Geeta is now one of over 2,000 women artisans in 45+ self-help groups creating magic from forest waste — one rakhi, basket, and home décor piece at a time. We are proud to share our heritage, our environment, and our hearts with the world — through every handcrafted product.

Geeta’s initiative is more than a craft—it’s a community. Women who once had limited opportunities now gather, share skills, and earn fair incomes while preserving the environment. Their work has brought pride to rural homes, sent children to school, and proven that tradition and innovation can coexist beautifully.

At the heart of it all is a deep connection to the land. Each piece is a celebration of the mountains, of women’s strength, and of the idea that sustainability starts with small steps taken close to home. With every pirul creation, Geeta and her fellow artisans remind us that meaningful change is handmade.
